Aluminum Tilt Steering Column

Billet Specialties aluminum tilt steering column is fully machined from 6061-T6 billet aluminum. All columns feature GM wiring, emergency flashers, directional, 5 position tilt and accept most aftermarket steering wheels. Column comes with dress-up kit which consists of tilt lever, turn signal lever and emergency flasher knob. These items are made from stainless steel and aluminum. Column is 32-1/2 inches in length.

Please note: These columns are not equipped with an ignition switch. Steering wheel, adapter, column drop and horn button not included.

Econo Steel and Aluminum Tilt

We offer both econo steel and an aluminum 6 position tilt column that features self-cancelling turn signals and 4 way flashers. Tilt columns without shifters come in either 30, 32 or 35 inch lengths. Tilt columns with shifters come in 30 or 33 inch lengths.

      For installing an option that never was, Ididit designed this perfect replacement for original '55 & '56 Chevy columns - but with the added comfort of 5-way tilt adjustment. It comes completely wired and is fully equipped with self-canceling turn signals, 4-way flashers, horn wiring, and Ididit Aluminum Dress-up Kit. Offered in steel and aluminum and four finishes.
      Our '55-'56 Tilt Column uses a 1" DD shaft and an industry standard 3-7/8 GM wiring harness connector for ease of installation. Designed for use with stock steering wheel,'69 or newer GM wheels, or most other, with optional adapter. Please specify which steering box or rack you'll be using.

1955 & 1956 Chevrolet Tilt Column Shift
      Like our '55-'56 Tilt, the '55-'56 Chevy Tilt Column Shift comes fully equipped with self-canceling turn signals, 4-way flashers, horn wiring, built-in neutral safety switch, Ididit Aluminum Dress-up Kit, and 5-way tilt, but also includes a smooth and reliable automatic transmission shift mechanism which uses your stock dash indicator.

      Considering the unflagging popularity of the legendary '57 Chevy, we would not be doing our jobs if we didn't offer this perfect replacement for original columns. Self-canceling turn signals, 4-way flashers, horn wiring, and Ididit Aluminum Dress-up Kit are all standard equipment along with a 5-way tilt adjustment for extra comfort.
      This column uses a strong 1" DD shaft and industry standard 3-7/8" GM wiring connector. To personalize your '57, you can order your '57 Tilt Column in paintable or chromed steel and clear anodized brushed or polished aluminum. It is designed for use with stock and post-'69 GM steering wheels or most others with an optional billet adapter. Please specify which steering box or rack you'll be using.

1957 Chevrolet Tilt Column Shift
      For '57 Chevy's with automatic transmissions, Ididit offers this version of our tilt unit with a column shifter. This column also includes self-canceling turn signals, 4-way flashers, horn wiring, Ididit Aluminum Dress-up Kit, and 5-position tilt adjustment as standard equipment. This column also has provisions to use your stock dash shift indicator and includes a built-in neutral safety switch.

A neutral safety switch is included with a column shift column. An indicator is not included. You will need to purchase a wiring adapter to plug into your original wiring harness. The original under dash mounting hardware will he used as well as the original floor mount. The steering column will attach to an intermediate shaft with a U-joint. The intermediate shaft will attach to the gearbox with a rag joint. The original shaft can he cut and made into a DD. The original shaft and rag joint can he used, however a new shaft and rag joint are recommended. A Stock GM steering wheel from a 1969 or newer passenger car will bolt to the top of the column. Most aftermarket wheels will attach to the top of the column with an adapter.

    The 1967 Trucks were produced several different ways, the installation may be like the '62-'66 model or like the '68-'72 model, depending on when it was produced. While installation was different, the column is the same as the '68-'72 model. Accessories for the '62-'66 model may be necessary for the installation.

The original shaft and rag joint can be used, however a new shaft and rag joint are recommended. A Stock GM steering wheel from a 1969 or newer passenger car will bolt to the top of the column. Most aftermarket wheels will attach to the top of the column with an adapter.
